HELP HAS COME MANTLE!
1 Samuel 7:2-14
explains how Samuel Judged Israel… Please take notes of your testimony of
EBENEZER! My Help Has Come!
2 So it was that the ark remained in Kirjath Jearim a long
time; it was there twenty years And
all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord. (1.) IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW LONG, YOUR HELP HAS COME.
3 Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the Lord, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines." 4 So the children of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and served the Lord only. (2.) BE HONEST WITH YOUR DEALINGS WITH GOD.
7 Now when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel
had gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against
Israel. And when the children of Israel heard of it, they were afraid of the
Philistines. 8 So the children of Israel said to Samuel, "Do not cease to
cry out to the Lord our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the
Philistines." (4). PRIDE IS THE
DRIVER OF YOUR ENEMY, DON’T FEAR THEM, FACE GOD WHEN THEY FACE YOU AND WATCH
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM.
(5). EVERY MAN NEEDS A MAN TO GET HELPED,
IT MAYBE YOUR MAN OF GOD, BUT MAN GO FEATURE. 9 And Samuel took a suckling lamb
and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. Then Samuel cried out to
the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him.
(6). YOU HAVE GOD, YOU HAVE EVERYTHING
AND YOU HAVE SECURED VICTORY IN ALL. 10 Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt
offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord
thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused
them that they were overcome before Israel. 11 And the men of Israel went out
of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth
Car. 12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and
called its name EBENEZER, SAYING, "THUS FAR THE LORD HAS HELPED US." (7). YOUR EBENEZER HELP TESTIMONY WILL
BE A TOKEN AND A PROPHETIC MANTLE FOR GENERATIONS.
(8). YOUR OPPRESSORS ARE SUBDUED AND
TODAY THEY ARE IN ETERNAL TROUBLE. 13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they
did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was
against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 Then the cities which the Philistines had taken from
Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron to Gath; and Israel recovered its
territory from the hands of the Philistines. Also there was peace between
Israel and the Amorites. NKJV. (9).
THERE IS SUPERNATURAL RECOVERY AND RESTORATION OF ALL LOST BECAUSE OF THE HELP
OF GOD OVER YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW).
(10). PEACE! PEACE!! PEACE!!! All round peace, what can be more profound like the Peace of God from a well scheduled invasion that was plotted to bring utter disaster and destruction, but by the Mandate of God’s EBENEZER (My Help Has Come) Mantle, it was averted and they who plotted the trouble entered the trouble they schemed for God’s people. Trust GOD! He is come through for you already.
WHAT EBENEZER MEANS: The word Ebenezer literally means “stone
of help.” The stone that Samuel erected was a constant reminder to
the nation of Israel that God had protected them and led them to victory. God
was their helper, in other words, and the Ebenezer was a visual reminder of
that truth.
HISTORY AND
ETYMOLOGY FOR EBENEZER
From the origin word of Hebrew, it is pronounced as; EBHEN
HĀ-ʽEZER; “stone of help”; from the application of this name by Samuel to the
stone which he set up in commemoration of God's help to the Israelites in their
victory over the Philistines at Mizpah (1 Samuel 7:12).
In the second narrative (1 Samuel 7:2–14), the
Israelites defeated the Philistines after Samuel had offered a
sacrifice. Samuel puts up a stone in memorial and names it Eben-Ezer.
It’s a COVENANT word
from a victorious encounter. Prophet Samuel met God at the place of sacrifice
and the Bible says and the Lord heard and granted him victory against the
Philistines.
Our Covenant with God makes our faith real. It’s the reality
of the believer’s faith and validates victory without struggles. Where others struggle,
covenant makes it easy for you.
